When one thinks of a white-tailed deer farm, one usually envisions the majestic monster buck standing proud with his head high, neck extended, and that beautiful rack on top his head. That's true but what one does not envision is the all white or the beautiful multi-colored white-tailed deer called 'Piebald' that Northern Whitetail is proud to have, breed and raise. Our white white-tailed deer are white and not albino. Difference? Our white deer have either blue or green eyes. Our previously owned monster white buck, Hercules, actually had gold eyes. Albino deer have pink eyes. From my personal experience, white white-tailed deer are more nervous and cautious. They also have a different type of fur. It's thicker and softer than a brown or piebald white-tailed deer fur. I'm not sure why, these are just my observations and personal findings. Our piebald deer have been compared to the markings of a paint-horse. Piebald usually have ocean blue eyes. Some times green. Brown is not the norm in our line. Piebald white-tailed deer are incredibly curious, friendly, social and vocal. I was told once that deer never look up. NOT TRUE!!! Piebald usually will look up and twist their heads around checking out a noise versus keeping their head level and moving their bodies. Now when it comes to breeding, breeding white to white does not guarantee you a white fawn. There is no guarantee that you'll have piebald fawns if you breed two piebald deer. The majority of our herd is the typical 'brown' white-tailed deer. These we breed for genetics. We have some world-class genetics on our farm. We are excited about what the future holds for Northern Whitetail Scents!! Check out our new herd additions! More of our bucks... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
